Intuitive Back Panel Controls
The back panel is easy to learn and using the Retra Flash quickly becomes intuitive.
The ergonomic dials are different lengths and feature hard stops, as well as a satisfying click at every setting. This way, you can always know the mode and power setting of your strobe and make quick adjustments without looking.
Single pulse, TTL, HSS, and more. All essential firing modes, with a customizable user mode.
The OLED display shows relevant information based on selected mode: Recycle time, battery status, selected mode and power setting, etc.
Classic Bayonet Mount
The bayonet mount is an easy to use twist lock mechanism at the front of the strobe. The bayonet mount allows you to attach a selection of accessories that shape your light or change its color temperature.
The bayonet mount remains the same on all Retra Flash models and allows you to change photography styles on the go.

Leakage Detection & Prevention

Description of modes
The BATT/TEST mode allows you to check the battery status of your strobe. Test your strobe’s flash output or use it for creative lighting techniques with long exposure.
Retra Flash Pro Max emits a single pulse of soft light at the selected power level. You can fine-tune the strength of illumination with 13 power levels of ~0.5 F-Stop increments, giving you a total of ~7 F-Stops, without accessories.
Retra Flash Pro Max uses your camera’s calculations to determine the ideal exposure for the scene by using a pre-flash. You can adjust the relative power of the automatic exposure if you feel it was too high or low.
Retra Flash Pro Max is capable of emitting a long flash pulse, required for HSS photography. You can fine-tune the strength of exposure to suit your specific needs.
The U mode allows you to tailor your Retra Flash experience. Select your custom user mode by connecting your strobe with the Retra UWT App. You can choose between Smart SL, Manual Low Power, or LED Adjust modes.
If you find yourself in trouble, Retra Flash Pro Max is capable of emitting a morse code signal for help (SOS). This mode overrides any errors.
You can also flip the LED screen on the Retra Flash Pro Max by 180°, allowing you to use it in any orientation.
Retra Flash Pro Max features a pilot or guide light with two intensity levels, allowing you to find the ideal position for your strobes quickly and easily. You can also customize the intensity of each level with the LED Adjust mode in the Retra UWT App.
Pilot light feature is available in M, TTL, HSS, and U modes.
